Should I tip my acupuncturist?

I get this question a lot. And I also know that iI don’t get this question a lot even though its on many peoples minds. Its an awkward topic to bring up. Here is what I tell my patients and what I believe to be true. DO NOT TIP YOUR ACUPUNCTURIST. In school our professors regularly emphasized that although acupuncture treatments are relaxing and luxurious like spa services (or at least mine are), this is still a medical field. You don’t tip your doctor. And I do not expect you to tip me. I appreciate the sentiment that a tip represents. It means you appreciate my treatments and you wan to show me gratitude. But, save your money. In my eyes the best way to show gratitude to an acupuncturist is do your best and show up to your treatments. I set my prices based on the energy I put into my treatments. All the years of schooling, the details, and yes, the cost to run a business. I do not expect you to have to pay any more then what I have alreadyCalculated to be the best fair price for the best service you deserve.
