What benefits does Acupuncture offer my Child?

Kids Respond so well and often very quickly to acupuncture. I remember my first experience treating a child- she was a baby with severe constipation, a result of necessary life saving medication. And during the treatment she had a bowel movement!. Another time I was asked to help break a fever- again while I gave her a treatment the temperature lowered. Aches, pains, anxieties, sleep issues, tummy troubles and all the other maladies that affect kids can be addressed through acupuncture by relaxing and unblocking their nervous system; giving their intelligent bodies a chance to heal or their sick bodies a chance to get stronger.

Kids are the most pure beings. And because of this they don’t need nearly as much time to treat as an adult. As true as that is they still deserve our attention and patience as they share their story with me and making them feel safe. Parents are welcome to stay during the treatment or comeback at the end of the hour. First treatment includes intake and the type of needling they feel comfortable with- shone shin, contact or regular Japanese style with acupuncture needles. Being that kids are so pure and haven’t had as much time on the planet to bungle things up like us adults treatments take a much shorter amount of time than adults do.
